The first collection was lauched at London's 21 Sloan Terrace, a Fashion Week official venue. J, who loves to have a little spicy fun, staged one of her next show's at Astral Club, one of the city's trendiest table dancing clubs. The pioneering designer was one of the privileged 100 to be placed in Sample a book whose curators include the names Tim blanks, Alexander McQueen, and Harriet Quick. Ten of fashion's most repesected presented J Maskrey, along with such names as Nicolas Ghesquiere of Balenciaga, Rick Owens of Revillon, and Hedi Slimane of Dior Homme, as one of the "most outstanding fashion designers" to emerge internationally within the past six years. J. Maskrey, who recently relocated from London to Paris, has developed lines to include an impressive jewellery collection, accessories, and men's and women's eveningwear line, as well as continuing with her signature crystal tattoos. She has spent the last two years touring as make-up artist for one of her most faithful clients, internationally known rock band U2.

Her present collaborations include Judieth Leiber’s cashmere range and Melissa’s launch of a crystal shoe line . She is currently working on her women's eveningwear line, to show in September of this year, and the launch of a new men and women's sportswear line that same month.

This fashion revolutionist J. Maskrey, who began her empire with sweet tasting tattoos, has positively earned her place among todays most influenial designers.

Ms. Maskrey, known to her clients and employees as J, received her inspiration for these bejewelled masterpieces when arriving early for an appointment with a client in New York. Browsing in a nearby supermarket, she came upon rows of candies, and, being a make-up artist at the time, immediately thought that combining them with make-up would be quite interesting. Her first creations involved attaching candy pellets to tape forming a textured tattoo thus placing a whole new spin on the childhood, candy necklaces. The designer then started working with her now signature crystals. Complicated crystal motifs were fashioned, and the clients started ringing. The first to take notice was stylist Charlotte Stockdale who vehemently urged her to seek exposure.

he next day Browns Focus placed an order for J's pieces. Lancome called next, and the list, spanning a decade in time, continues to lengthen.
